These meeting are simply about hearing hiring and training needs in West Alabama and developing plans to meet those needs. You will also learn about existing strategies to address the unique challenges facing West Alabama's construction industry. Meeting topics include building workforce pipelines, tackling trades worker shortages, and leveraging grant funding to train new employees. Our goal is to unite all sectors of the construction industry to collaboratively find solutions to the sector’s most pressing challenges.

About Alsyon
Alyson is the Assistant Director of the Alabama Construction Recruitment Institute (ACRI). The mission of ACRI is to educate the public on the value of learning a trade, dispel the misconceptions of the construction industry, and inspire them to build a career as a skilled construction professional. Alyson also oversees the Alabama Construction Industry Craft Training (CICT) Board’s Grant Program. The CICT Grant Program provides funding to support training programs in building a qualified workforce to meet the growing demand for skilled craftspeople and commercial construction workers in Alabama.

Alyson has the pleasure of working with schools, colleges, businesses, training centers, non-profits, and associations throughout the state, which provide insights of the best practices, challenges, and needs facing workforce development in Alabama’s commercial construction industry. This insight helps her plan, implement, and enhance activities and strategies to recruit the next generation of skilled trades people and provide the necessary resources to train and build a career in the commercial and industrial construction industry.
