• Identify Goals: Having a clear vision of what you want to achieve is crucial for any leader. In football, every game, practice, and drill ultimately ties back to specific goals like winning conference championships or making it to a bowl game. 
• Take the Necessary Steps: Once goals are established, breaking them down into executable steps is vital. Leaders recognize that consistent fundamentals and commitment to the process ultimately dictate the capability to deliver on strategic aims. 
• Be Patient: Very few meaningful accomplishments happen overnight. Playing football instills the leadership quality of patience and trusting the process. World-class leaders acquire the patience to let their hard work compound. 
• Take Advice: No individual possesses all the answers. Football players must synthesize different coaching philosophies and learn from the experience of veteran teammates. The most successful leaders understand the value of actively soliciting diverse perspectives and being receptive to constructive criticism in the never-ending pursuit of self-improvement. 
• Be Persistent: In football, each play requires an unwavering commitment and refusal to quit regardless of the circumstances. Prominent leaders exemplify this same determination - pushing through fatigue, adversity, and temporary failures until their goals ultimately become realities through sheer force of persistent effort.
